"Interpretation of the classic jazz standard Round Midnight by the great Thelonious Monk. In this arrangement I am applying several concepts worked in the classes with Adolfo, among them: Shell Voicings, drop 2, harmonization with diminished chord, upper structure, swing feel, approve of bass lines , different articulations, counterpoint lines, use of rhythmic and melodic patterns, arpeggios, chromatisms and attachments. "
Theo Fraga
"In this arrangement of Assum Preto I am using concepts such as: rearmonizations, quartal voicings, exploration of bass lines, xote grooves, modulations, counterpoint and countermelodies."
Theo plays the standard All The Things You Are and later shares comments (in Portuguese) regarding several techniques used in the arrangement, such as reharmonization with secondary dominant chords and tritone substitution in addition to selected voicings.
